Citroen Evasion: Owner Review

I bought Citroen Evasion in 1999 and I'm still glad I did it.

The words "the best", "the leader", and so on always dominate in press releases however this time I do agree with Citroen Evasion advertisers, this is really one of the most practical minivans.

Its quite a conservative appearance doesn't let it stand out in the traffic current but I don't really need this. Roominess and comfort are much more important and my Evasion is beyond comparison when it comes to these factors.

Capacious saloon can accommodate five passengers assuring comfort (there is a option of 8 people capacity, but my family isn't that big) and what is more, it can be easily transformed. The trunk volume is just like a family man needs. It is very convenient to have rear sliding doors.

The interior trim and plastic are very comfortable, pleasant, and practical. I have no complaints if speaking about driver seat ergonomics. I was to emphasize great visibility, special thanks to the designers who did a great job working on glass area.

I really enjoy Citroen Evasion ride-and-handling performance. The suspension is a great one and it doesn't have a bad influence on steerability.

However after having said so many pleasant words I think I have to pass to some criticism. There are too many problem components in Citroen Evasion construction especially in the front suspension (while rear one is problem-free). Balls assembled together with lever and silent blocks, steering link ends, and antiroll bar pillars aren't durable enough. What is more, there are some problems with Citroen Evasion electronics.

My advice to diesel Evasion owners is to use only quality oil otherwise vacuum brake booster's oil gallery gums up and leading to brakes troubles. Diesel automobile should have its expansion clearance and valves adjusted, as well as its injectors cleaned and adjusted once every 80 thousand km.

Anyway, unfortunately there aren't a lot of perfect things in the world. Citroen Evasion is a great automobile and I'm glad I have it even taking into consideration all its disadvantages.
