Citroen BX: The Maintenance

Citroen engines are very reliable, they can do not less than 350 thousand km if oil is changed timely. The diesel engines are even more durable. Gas distributing mechanism belt is replaced every 60 000 km, the specialists advise replacing the pump as well, its life is only a bit longer.

Manual gearbox's oil should be replaced once in 120 - 150 thousand kilometers.

It is better replacing power fluid LHM in every 40 - 60 thousand km in order to assure problem-free operation of hydraulic suspension.

Mechanical components of the suspension are really durable, even silent blocks live more than 150 000 km. Rear lever bearing that also functions as silent block, is the only weak point, it helps to fix the lever on the rear beam.
